The Red Francis is a famous fly which is normally trundled along the bottom of many a river with great success and has been put on a Hitch tube for good reason. This riffle-hitch plastic tube pattern is another variant on that theme but with the obvious trailing legs. A slim dressing is designed to skip across the water surface, causing a wake which will attract even the most dogged of resident fish. We have used a 2mm plastic tube which allows your small hook to fit and hold at the rear of the fly.
Tied on a short lightweight plastic tube. Hitch tubes have a pre-pierced hole in the side for angled line entry. Fish on a full floating line to give an enticing surface wake.
